This is a very descriptive book about flying. I hope that from this book you will become a better flyer!

Chapter 1 - Safty

Flying can be very dangerous. If you are just starting to learn to fly make sure you have protective gear on. You can always slip off the broom or even break if while getting on and off. So be really careful when you do. You should never try and do a dive without supervision. This is the cause that happens most to beginners. If your broom is broken you should never ride it if it has been taped, glued, or put back together in any non-magical way. Take it to a professional and have them bond it back together. You should always inspect your broom before riding, look for twigs sticking out to the sides, cracks or chips in the wood, and deformaties such as warping.

Chapter 2 - Mounting Your Broom

Lay your broom on the ground next to your body about an arm's length away. Hold your right hand out over the broom and say in a clear, confident voice, "UP!". The broom should jump up into your hand. It may not work the first time, but keep trying. When it does, position it about waist level and carefully climb on. Your feet should still be touching the ground. Lift them up a bit and try to get your balance. Your hands should be a few inches from the tip, and you should be leaning forward slightly.

Chapter 3 - Beginning to Fly

When you can sit without wobbling, carefully kick off the ground. Do this lightly, as you do not want to go too high. To stop rising, sit up straight. To return to the ground push the tip down just a bit. Once you have this mastered, return to the air. This time, instead of coming back down, lean forward until the broom starts to move forward. To turn, point the tip in the direction you want to go. To go backwards, put your left hand behind you on the broom handle. Remember, start slowly and then build up speed. You should also first fly low and start on a little hill. Do not start from a very big hill for you could lose control and crash. Also you should choose a broom that doesn't go that fast for those are for experts like the Firebolt and you need to start off on a slow broom. But once you get quite good at flying you can get the Firebolt at maybe after you've had 2 other brooms.

Chapter 4 - Wanting to play Quidditch

When you are having lessons on learning to fly you shouldn't go right away and try out for the quidditch team. When you have your second broom and no how to fly on it really well that's when you should try out. However, if you find that you don't like Quidditch but like flying only you shouldn't get a Firebolt because you won't really need it if your not playing Quidditch. All you need is a good broom that can get around.
